The story
Vahdam was founded in 2015 by Bala Sarda, an Indian entrepreneur whose family had been in the tea trade for generations. Most Indian tea exported to the West passed through multiple brokers, ships, and repackagers — Vahdam's thesis was to ship tea directly from Indian gardens to consumers within weeks of harvest.
The result: fresher tea, more transparent sourcing (estate names on packages), and better margins for Indian producers. Vahdam has grown into one of the most prominent India-to-US direct tea brands, with Amazon Prime availability and Rainforest Alliance + USDA Organic certifications across their line.
