David Nguyen
Recovering software engineer who left tech to write about Southeast Asian and Indian teas. Currently obsessed with pu-erh.
Heritage: Vietnamese-American
About David
David grew up in Houston drinking his father's lotus tea and his mother's condensed-milk chai. After a decade as a software engineer, he quit to travel through Vietnam, India, and Sri Lanka writing about tea traditions and sourcing. He joined Cha2go in 2024 to handle product research and Southeast/South Asian coverage.
David's specialty is the long tail — the Vietnamese lotus teas, Indian tulsi blends, Sri Lankan Ceylon, and Chinese pu-erh that mainstream American tea coverage skips entirely. He's also the person who built Cha2go's Amazon data pipeline and does the quantitative product analysis.
